Living Room, early morning light and taking care of what is Important

I love early mornings especially on weekends, the light at that time of the day is truely inspiring, which is when I love to take alot of photos. Now, considering I work a full time job you would think I would sleep in...BUT thanks to my little buddy, Toby, it isn't about to happen. So I make the best of it to take the time just to enjoy the peacefullness of it all (that's after he gets his morning treat of course, even before I get MY cup of coffee). In fact I haven't even had time to put all the Christmas things up as you can see in the reflection in the mirror. The things we do for the animals we love....

Toby, in his chair (needing a bath, which he HATES) by the way, any chair is HIS chair. For that fact any surface that doesn't move is his if he so decides. Did I mention he rules the roost? You just gotta love em! He was a major comfort to me during chemo and continues to be so, how can I say no? So this is just a little tribute to the animals in our life, mine in particular, that in their own small way end up giving far more than what we often give back.
P.S. He will be getting extra (healthy) dog treats today!

What a cutie pie, he is! Do you know that my father had a dog named Toby (a TFT) who was also his "nurse"??? He lived to be 18 and was a joy to my parents and to us.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Wanted to post about Toby!
WOW, he looks so regal with that pose! He is like 10 times larger than his size with that photo!
What a cutie! Love the tiger behind him, gives him more presence in the photo!
How did you distract him enough to pose? I'll bet he was like that for a few seconds? Love that cowlick above his eyes! Great Photo Judith!

Oh Toby is a darling! We have a Golden Retriever who rules our roost!

Your living room is so lovely. I love the light and how the glass and mirrors catch the light. Just beautiful!

Great lighting in these photos & great post. I love your pup!

I would also love your support on the ELLE DECOR window that I decorated for the Big Window Challenge this year. As we all know, AT doesn't make it easy, but you can vote TWICE a day. Once online & the other by texting "1" to 89800.

Your support means the world to me!!

So glad I found your blog. What a beautiful room and Toby is adorable. I have what we bought as a yorkie, but everyone thinks she is probably a silky, but we love her to death. Yes, no sleeping in with her either. She starts whimpering around 5:30 to 6:00 until I take her potty. Then she will run and jump and get in my spot in the bed. I love how she keeps me company during the day. Toby is a cutie...Kim

thank you everyone, I truely appreciate your comments. sometimes life gets in the way of me blogging. Last week my dog, Toby had a bad episode, his little leg quite "working" it is a diease, it is operable, but it is thousands of dollars! right now he is on a steriod, I am hoping that it will bring down the swelling and make things better...

Hello Judith-I still wander through GW and your "accessorizing" thread that you no longer post on. My goodness I've missed corresponding with you! I hope you are well and that your remodel is finished and beautiful. Are there any places where you are still putting together tablescapes? Don't know about where you live but I've noticed here (in CO.) the TJMaxx and Marshalls aren't carrying many lovely items they used to (economy?). Anyway, I left you a question on the GW thread re: name of the lovely ivory china with the gold rims and pink roses on the salad plate. Would love to know that. Hope all is well.

Viewing your Blog again, I didn't realize how much the Sepia tones were in your above photos. They really capture the gold tones beautifully!
Trying to write some stuff on my Blog not sure where I want to go with it yet. But I am visiting cyberspace and blog land!

Hi, someone pinned your tiered Christmas picture to Pinterest, which is where I saw it. It inspired me to use my mother's three-tiered glass plates to do something different, yet similar. I will be blogging about it in the next few days, and while mine looks a lot different than yours (reds, silvers), I will give you credit for the original idea. I will not post your original picture but I will state that I got the idea from you and I will provide a link to your blog.

Hi Mary,
Thank you for your nice comment on my stacked caked dishes. I love using them as a decorating focal point for my coffee table and sometimes the dining table.
Your red and silver theme will be beautiful!

I just joined Pininterest myself, there are losts of great ideas there.

Anonymous,

thank you for you sweet concern. I am OK, I have had serious problems with my computer so I have not been able to post like I would like to. I will be going to the library to use the computer there and will be posting the remodeling I have been doing to my home. Thanks again for your kind words, it is so nice to be cared about! :)
